Industry is where people in sales and revenue learn from people who have done their job. These terms are the agreement between you and Adrata Inc., which runs Industry. By using Industry you agree to them and to the Privacy page, which is part of this agreement.

Who we are

Industry is operated by Adrata Inc. ("we"). The app runs at industry.adrata.com; the public site and the links you share are on industrysf.com. Reach us at legal@adrata.com.

Who can join

Industry is invite only. You need an invitation from a member, who has five to give, or an approval from us, and you must be at least 18 and joining for your own work in sales or revenue. One account per person, in your own name: no shared, second, team or company accounts. Don't sell or trade invites. We may void an invite or decline to admit someone.

Your account

Your account belongs to you, not to your employer. Keep your sign-in to yourself; everything done from your account is yours to answer for, so tell us the moment you think someone else has used it.

Industry is for people. Only a person in a signed-in session can use it; on purpose, our API refuses agents, scripts, API keys and automated clients. Don't scrape, crawl or bulk-download Industry, and don't probe or overload it.

Be who you are

Use your real name, your own photo and your real work history. Don't claim a role, a company, a quota or a result that isn't yours, and don't impersonate anyone.

A role is verified when the evidence checks out: the work email you signed in with belongs to that company, or an admin there confirms it. Anything else is stored as self-reported and never shown as verified. Posting, hosting, inviting and starting new conversations open once at least one role is verified.

When a role is verified, or you complete a Learn course, Industry can issue you a signed credential that says only what the evidence supports. It is yours to share, download or remove. If the role behind it changes, it is revoked and anyone who checks it can see that; we may suspend one obtained with false evidence.

What you share

You own what you post: posts, replies, voice and video notes, Letters, messages and uploads. By sharing it, you give Adrata a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store it, copy it, make transcripts and previews of it, rank it and show it to the members allowed to see it, for as long as it stays on Industry. That is the whole licence. We don't put your content in ads, sell it, or use it to train AI models. When you delete something, the licence ends; when you leave, your text is removed at once. Two things outlive it, as a posted letter would: messages you sent stay in the other person's inbox, and a thread that still needs a name shows "Former member".

Only share what you have the right to share; if you upload someone else's work, or something a contract or a confidence covers, that is on you. Uploads are capped by kind and sit in a private store that only people allowed to see the post or message can read.

Adrata, AI and agents

Adrata, the AI inside Industry, uses your posts to help other members only if you turn that on; by default it sees a post only when it is already on your own screen. We don't train AI models on your posts, messages or work history, and if that ever changes we will ask you first.

You can register an agent to draft posts for you, and that is all an agent may do. It appears as @you/its-name with an Agent label; it never signs in, reads other members' data, messages, votes or takes a seat. You approve and publish every post it drafts and answer for it as if you had written it.

The rules

Industry works because members can trust what they read and can post without being sold to. So:

• Keep confidences. Don't post customer names, deal terms, pricing, pipeline, call recordings or internal documents that a customer or an employer trusted you with, or that an NDA or your contract covers. A teardown that names nobody is welcome; a leaked contract is not.
• Help, don't farm. Nothing here is ranked for reach, so engagement bait, follow-for-follow, vote rings and posting for volume gain nothing. Say the useful thing.
• No prospecting. Industry is not a lead list. Don't pitch, sequence, recruit or export members who haven't asked. Messages from people you didn't work with land in Requests, and they can decline.
• Label your agents, as above.
• Be decent. No harassment, threats, hate, discrimination, sexual content, doxxing or scams, and nothing unlawful.

Messages

Messages, notes and Letters are seen only by the people in the conversation. You choose who can message you directly; everyone else lands in Requests, where you can decline. You can edit or delete what you sent, and block or mute anyone.

Live asks and events

Any verified member can host a live ask or an event, and hosting means you answer for what happens in the room. Notes are on by default and are shown to anyone but the host only once everyone in the room has agreed. Recording is off by default; don't record a live ask by other means without everyone's agreement. Industry isn't a party to anything you arrange in person.

Company pages

Every member can read a company page. Only that company's admins edit it, confirm who works there, and register the company's agents. An admin speaks for the company on that page and is responsible for what it says.

Ads

Industry may show ads, only in For you, always labelled, from Industry itself or from an advertiser we approved by hand. By default an ad uses nothing about you; if you turn on "Use my profile to choose ads", an ad must reach at least 300 members or it does not run, and advertisers see aggregate numbers only. We can pause or end any campaign at any time.

Reporting and enforcement

You can report a post, reply, message, member, event or live ask from where you see it. The person reported is never told who reported them. A person at Industry reviews every report and can hide the content, dismiss the report, or suspend and reinstate a member. We may also hide content, void invites or end an account without a report when these terms or the law are broken, and involve the authorities where someone is at risk. Where we can, we will tell you what rule was broken. If you think we got it wrong, write to legal@adrata.com and a person will look again.

Leaving

You can leave at any time: download everything we hold about you from Settings, then choose Leave Industry. Your text is removed at once, you vanish from every "Worked with" list, and the Privacy page says what remains and for how long. If we end your account for breaking these terms, you can ask us for a copy of your data. Ownership and licence, disclaimers, liability and law outlast an account.

Free

Industry is free. There is nothing to buy today. If we ever charge for something, such as a paid live ask, we will say what it costs before you agree to it, and update this page.

What we don't promise

Industry is provided as it is and as available. We work to keep it accurate, safe and online, but we can't promise it always will be, or that a verified role, a credential, a transcript or a feed is free of error. Advice from members is theirs. Where the law lets us, we give no warranties beyond what these terms say.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Adrata Inc. isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from Industry, such as lost deals, income, data or reputation, and our total liability to you for all claims together is limited to US$100. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or anything the law won't let us limit. If someone brings a claim against Adrata because of what you posted or did on Industry in breach of these terms, you will cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts in Delaware, and both of us agree to those courts, unless the law where you live gives you the right to go to court at home.

Changes

We may change or end features, and we don't pre-screen content. When we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we will tell you before it takes effect and update the date at the top. Using Industry after that means you accept the change; if you don't, you can leave and take your data with you. These terms and the Privacy page are the whole agreement between us about Industry; if a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest stands. You can't transfer this agreement to anyone else; we may, with notice to you, if Industry changes hands.
